I am a bad daughter! I have neglected to introduce you to one of the most important people in this crazy upcycling furniture endevor. My mother. My mom goes with me on almost every single 'shopping trip' for new pieces. She talks me out of and into many of them.  She is my biggest supporter and my voice of reason. "No Amanda we cant fit that 7 foot buffet into your Kia Soul" I wouldn't be able to do any of this without her. There are many times she has called me or I have called her (and dad for the truck) as we spot pieces on the side of the road. One of my favorite pieces (which I stupidly didnt get a picture of) was a desk my mom found at the end of a driveway on her way to work. I had to swing by and pick up as she couldn't in her vehicle. Another time we found the motherload of discarded furniture on garbage day and we had to call my dad to come meet us with the truck.
She helps me with some of my projects as well. Especially in the last few days before a show. She is my go to upholsterer.
She also works with me at all the craft shows and I know that, that it definetly not her favorite job!
She is my mom and I love her like crazy!!
Thanks mom :o)

One of our shopping trips. You would think after almost 2 years of this we would know enough to take a bigger vehicle. lol

Over the last 2 weeks or so I have been the lucky recipient of 10 pieces!!! These pieces were passes on to me by friends (thank you so much Valoree Sherwood priaulx) and friends of friends (Thank you Donna Reid and Manuelle Ethier and of course Carie Reid and Shannon Suggit for setting those transactions up;o)
Pieces from friends and friends of friends are some of my favorites because they meant alot to that person. Enough to pass them on and not throw them out which means they were loved.  And they are happy to pass them on to 'a good home'. Which thank God was mine!!
Here are my new lovelies.

So I hit the jackpot this weekend!!! I found, bought, scavenged, and pryed out of the hands of older ladies about 10 pieces!!! (after loading the pictures it is 23 to be exact!! including items that were donated to me by friends and friends of friends.) and I am in LOVE with every single one. I am going to have a hard time letting them go when they are done. I have some great ideas and some possible repurposing projects in mind and I am glad that I am on March break so I can actually work on them It is suppose to be beautiful outside this week which will be good for sanding. I am going to try to add pics now to this blog to show awesomenes of the new pieces I got!!! Ready? Amazing right? Some of the absolute best pieces I have ever found!! Soooooooo excited :o)

Making this webite was so much fun I am going to do another one today!!
My daughter and I are going to create her webiste today and I can add the link to her picture on my 'people and pages I love' page.
My daughter Eilidh is 12 years old and has had her own business for about two years now. She turns boring white bathroom tiles into beautiful and colourful coaster and trivets. ~ a beautiful place to set your mug, candle or roast pan~
I am so proud of her!! I would love to take some of the credit and say that I help her out but I don't do any if it!! I will say though that I taught her everything she knows. ;o)
So stay tuned and check out her site.
Thanks
Amanda
